This Privacy Policy explains how GymGoat ("GymGoat," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile app, website, features, and related services.
GymGoat is a social fitness app built around proof-of-workout streaks. Because the App uses photos, location verification, friend features, leaderboards, reactions, and optional contact-based friend discovery, this Privacy Policy explains those practices clearly.
By using GymGoat, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use GymGoat.
We collect information depending on how you use GymGoat.
When you create an account, we may collect your name, username, email address, profile photo or avatar, login provider information (such as Apple, Google, or email login), account settings, streak setup choices, and app preferences.
When you complete a workout check-in, we may collect proof photos taken through the App, front-camera and back-camera photos, date and time of check-in, the gym or location associated with the check-in, streak status, workout activity status, session information, and metadata needed to verify the check-in and prevent cheating.
Proof photos are part of the core GymGoat experience. They may be visible to your friends or other users depending on the App's design, your settings, and the feature being used.
GymGoat uses location information to verify workout check-ins and protect streak integrity. With your permission, we may collect or process precise location, approximate location, gym check-in location, distance from a selected or detected gym, location verification result, time of location verification, anti-cheat signals related to location, and saved or selected gym locations.
Location is required for verified streak check-ins. If you do not allow location access, you may not be able to create a verified streak check-in. You can control location permission through your device settings.
GymGoat may request camera access so you can take proof photos using the front and back camera. We may collect photos you take in the App, photo timestamps, and photo-related metadata needed for verification, safety, moderation, or app functionality. We do not access your camera unless you grant permission and use a feature that needs it.
GymGoat is social, so we may collect information related to your interactions with other users, including friend requests, friend list, leaderboard position, streak comparisons, friend profile views, emoji reactions, nudges, mute/remove/block actions, invite links, shared proof-photo activity, and social interactions inside the App. Some of this may be visible to other users, especially your friends.
If you choose to use contact syncing or friend discovery, GymGoat may request access to your contacts to help you find friends or invite people. We may process names, phone numbers, email addresses, contact matching results, and invite status. We do not sell your contacts and do not use them to contact people without your action. You can choose not to allow contact access.
We may collect app activity such as current streak, weekly and monthly activity, workout frequency, average session information, friend rank, leaderboard stats, screens viewed, buttons tapped, features used, crash logs, and performance data.
We may collect device type, operating system, app version, IP address, device identifiers, language and region settings, network information, crash reports, diagnostics, and security and anti-cheat signals.
If GymGoat offers paid features, we may receive limited payment-related information from Apple, Stripe, RevenueCat, or another provider, such as subscription status, product purchased, renewal status, cancellation status, trial status, transaction identifiers, and discount eligibility. We do not store your full credit card number.
If you contact us, we may collect your email address, your message, support request details, feedback, and any information you choose to provide.
We use information to create and manage your account, provide GymGoat's proof-of-workout streak features, verify gym check-ins, confirm streak eligibility, prevent cheating and abuse, display proof photos to allowed viewers, show streaks/stats/insights/leaderboards, enable friend features, help you find friends through contacts if you choose, process subscriptions and promotions, send notifications and service messages, improve the App, troubleshoot bugs, moderate content, enforce our Terms, protect users and the community, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your precise location data.
Because GymGoat is social, some information may be visible to other users, especially your friends, such as your name or username, profile photo, current streak, streak history, friend rank, leaderboard position, proof photos, reactions, nudges, and workout check-in activity. Only share content you are comfortable showing to the intended audience.
We may share information with trusted providers that help us operate GymGoat, such as cloud hosting, databases, authentication, maps and location, storage, analytics, crash reporting, payments, app stores, notifications, customer support, and security and anti-cheat tools. They process information only as needed to provide services to GymGoat.
If you purchase through Apple or another provider, your payment is processed by that provider under its own terms and privacy policy.
We may share information to comply with law or government requests, enforce our Terms, investigate cheating/fraud/abuse/security issues, protect the rights and safety of users or others, and prevent harm.
If GymGoat is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
GymGoat uses location to verify that check-ins happen at or near a gym, decide whether a check-in counts toward a streak, prevent fake streaks and spoofing, protect leaderboard fairness, and support saved-gym features.
We do not sell precise location data and do not use it to build advertising profiles. We do not allow other users to see your live precise location unless a specific feature clearly tells you so. You can disable location access in your device settings, but verified streak check-ins may not work without it.
Proof photos are part of GymGoat's core social experience and may be used to confirm workout activity, build your streak, show your workout post to friends, display photo grids or friend profiles, support reactions, moderate content, and prevent cheating.
Do not take proof photos in private spaces such as locker rooms, bathrooms, changing areas, or medical spaces. We may remove, restrict, or review photos that violate our Terms or create safety concerns.
Contact syncing is optional. If you allow contact access, we use contacts to help you find friends, suggest people you may know, or send invitations you choose to send. We do not sell your contacts or use them to contact people without your action. You can disable contact access in your device settings and use usernames, invite links, or share-sheet invites instead.
If you allow notifications, GymGoat may send streak reminders, friend activity updates, reaction alerts, nudge alerts, leaderboard updates, account or security messages, subscription updates, and app announcements. You can turn off notifications in your device settings.
We keep information for as long as needed to provide GymGoat, maintain streaks and social features, prevent cheating, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the App. Some data may remain in backups, logs, fraud-prevention systems, legal records, or payment records for a limited time after deletion.
If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information where required by law, unless we need to keep it for legitimate legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, or business reasons.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, request a copy of your data, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and opt out of certain communications.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no app, server, database, or internet transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account login information safe.
GymGoat is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided information to GymGoat, contact us at gymgoatapp@gmail.com.
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, which may have different privacy laws. By using GymGoat, you understand that your information may be transferred, stored, or processed outside your country as needed to provide the App.
GymGoat may use third-party services for login, maps, hosting, storage, analytics, payments, notifications, crash reporting, and other features. These services may collect or process information according to their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make major changes, we may notify you through the App, by email, or by posting the updated version. Your continued use of GymGoat after the updated policy becomes effective means you accept it.
